Hi Fiona,
I really liked your take on synchronous vs asynchronous learning. I thought that you did a great job at conveying the pros and cons of both types of learning. I would agree with you that a combination of both learning styles is the best route. As a child, I was much more hesitant to speak up in class and share my ideas and thoughts. I found the idea of possibly being wrong in front of my classmates to be terrifying. If I had the opportunity to share my ideas on a discussion board or other shared site I would have felt much more comfortable doing so. I really loved that during covid we were able to switch over to more asynchronous learning. It allowed me to get more confident in my sharing and speaking skills. I think it’s wonderful that the University has been able to incorporate both different learning styles into classes. As I know each student has different needs and benefits from both.
